Hair Travels

Braid It

Our top tip for the perfect travel hair, is to braid it - this keeps your hair out of the way, whilst still looking bang on trend.... plus, your hair will be perfectly crimped, wavy and beach ready for your arrival in your destination!

  • wash your hair the night before you travel, we recommend using Windle & Moodie Healthy Head Treatment  Shampoo
  • use a moisturising conditioner such as Windle & Moodie Nourishing Conditioner (both are paraben, silicone and sulphate free)
  • prep hair using L'Oreal Pli, or Windle & Moodie Oceanic Spray
  • braid or twist hair whilst still damp

UV Protection

Your hair is as susceptible to the harmful rays of the sun as the delicate skin on your face, so products which contain a UV filter are a must for your holidays. Here at |Linton & Mac we stock a couple of brands which include high performance UV protect products - pop by the shop and ask for more advice...

System Professional

Wella SP has a whole range, dedicated to UV protection. Solar includes everything from a hair and body shampoo to a handy travel size sun oil - all are highly moisturising, whilst also having the capabilities to gently cleanse sunscreens, salt and chlorine out of your hair and skin.

Windle & Moodie

For styling, we think that Windle & Moodie is hard to beat - so how made up were we to learn that as well as smelling absolutely dreamy and being packed with goodness, these favourites also contain HPF for sun protection: Shine & Smooth Oil, Cream Sheen, Invisible Day & Night Cream, Thickening Cream and Curl Enhancer.

There is something for everyone in there - but if we had to take only one to our desert island, it would have to be the Invisible Day & Night Cream... its like a facial moisturiser for your hair! This all-rounder brings hair to life and revitalises faded locks with a healthy shine - using monoi oil from the South Pacific to give far-reaching lustre and vitality, sugar beet extract to moisturise and strengthen and aloe vera to sooth, making this an absolute holiday hair essential.

When did you start at Linton and Mac:   opening day in September 2015

What was your very first job:   Saturday girl at Jodazzle salon on King Street until I left school

What was your path to Linton and Mac:   I trained as a medical secretary when I left school, but that wasn't for me... then went onto be a nursery nurse for a bit, but that wasn't really for me either... so, I was keen to get back into hairdressing and my sister Natasha was friends with Jaye after working with her and was going to go and work in her new salon she was opening, so I asked her to put a good word in for me! I had an interview with Jen and Jaye at the Illiticit Still - I remember Levi was leaving as I cam in and I thought oh my god! And then the question... like what were my favourite magazines and stuff like that...!!!

What are your highlights of working at Linton ad Mac so far:   meeting my bestie Kayleigh! // all the training and running my own column on a Saturday now // working as a tight team // the trips I've been on to London to visit Windle & Moodie and to go to L'Oreal Colour Trophy, twice! // the first Barber Bash // the couple of times Sergio has come from Windle & Moodie for training days with the team // so many good times!

If you could have any one else in the salons style for one day, who's would you steal and why:   a bit of Levi and a bit of Autumn - both are quite quirky and like the same stuff that I like... I love the personal twists Autumn puts into her looks and I would have Levi's whole wardrobe, if I had her figure!

Worst hair day and why:   my sister bleached my hair when I was about 13 as part of her training and I got it cropped on one side trying to go for the Frankie from the Saturday's look - but really I looked like I was questioning my sexuality!

Favourite movie:   Harry Potter, all of them // Cross Roads // The Road

Favourite book:   I read a page and then forget what I've read!

Words to live by:   "everything happens for a reason"

Worst habit:   going bright red when I am nervous, or stuttering or speaking utter shite!

What colour in a box of paints best describes you and why:   avocado green - because I'm a pretty calm person and not in your face

What single individual has taught you most in life and what have you learned from them:   Samantha, my mama - she's taught me how to appreciate everything... she loves me and my sister so much and would do anything for us - she still packs us lunches!!
