Hello Autumn!

It's been HECTIC around the L&M headquarters over the past month...no surprises there! We have new faces, both on the front desk and on the salon floor, we've been busy adding to our awards collection, and we also celebrated turning one with a big birthday bash! Read on to find out the inside scoop...

Our Team Has Grown

...came in to model for our new style bar looks and winded up with a job!

Deciding that she wanted to get back into the industry after a short spell in some stuffy office, she asked for a job and we gladly welcomed her. Cici is a qualified stylist, but we are tweaking her to the Linton & Mac way before opening her own column

...joins our front of house team and is a familiar face at Linton & Mac. She has worked alongside some of our stylists and juniors in the industry in Aberdeen, and has joined us from Ishoka.

What Have We Been Learning.....?

Cici and Jonny were down in Edinburgh at Charlie Millers learning all there is to know about colour contouring. This technique is used to enhance your features so that you can make the most of what your mama gave ya!

The duo are certainly one's to watch, as they are storming through their last parts of training in the lead up to getting their own columns soon as Graduate Stylists...WATCH THIS SPACE!

Abbie is part of the Windle & Moodie Generation NOW Team, meaning that she goes down to London a few times a year to learn all of Neil Moodie's tips and tricks on session styling.

This is a huge opportunity for Abbie and we are extremely proud of her for making the cut!

<========here's a photo of her and Neil #chums

Don't forget you can pick up your Windle & Moodie products in salon too!

Jen and Jaye were down south learning how to cut...yes, it's true - after a whole year in business and winning countless awards, the girls have finally learned how to cut!

Jokes aside, they had an amazing day down in Glasgow with Steve Rowbottom and Leanne Brown of Westrow Acadamy. This Vidal Sassoon trained duo, were teaching contemporary classics - detailed hairlines to your classic Sassoon shapes and everything in between.

Craig also headed south for Smartbond's colour training in Edinburgh...

Smartbond is proving to be a very popular choice for our clients since it was introduced last month - it is a unique system which strengthens hair through the colouring process. The results certainly speak for themselves.

OOPS...We Did it Again

We went down to Edinburgh on 28th August to participate in the Best in Scotland Awards where we were up for Best Business in Scotland, which was a public vote - and, WE WON!

It means so so much to us that this award was voted by the public - so thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!

We just can't stop smiling :)

Meet the Stylists - Press and Journal article

We were delighted to make the press again in August - this time, our local paper, The Press and Journal quizzed Natalie and Ross on their top tips on how to create the perfect up do...

Ross and Natalie are part of our our in-house creative team and put a lot of hard work into creating our new style bar looks. Some of which you can see in the article.

In case you missed it, read it here.

On Saturday 3rd September, we marked our one year birthday, with a big party! We closed the doors for a couple of hours, filled the place with 300 balloons, candy floss, and tasty food and drink, and re-opened for an afternoon of fun with our beautiful clients, friend and family...

The night before, even saw us redecorating - thanks Jaye's mum & dad!

Big shout-outs to Ben at Porters Gin, Louise and the Fierce Beer team, Rebecca and all the girls at Pretty 52, Victoria and Holly at Propercorn, Jackie of Candy CreationsAutumn for the fab nibbles, Anne & John for wallpapering, Erin at HJC StylingJulia and her amazing PR skills and last, but certainly not least, Natalie and the rest of our beautiful team for our lovely cake and gifts!

Some great bloggers covered the day - read Erin's experience here!

New Style Bar Looks

At our birthday bash, we officially launched our new style bar looks. We wanted a more fashion-forward and fresh look to the styles and introduced non-fussy up and down do's. We've stripped everything back to compliment the more modern approach we're taking to our express services which we offer.

Our style bar appointments are £25, and is a great choice before that special event or night out with the girls - you can book in as a group and be pampered in or lounge area with nibbles and fizz!

Our ladies style bar has proved so popular, we are now offering one for you lovely gents too. A swift 15 minute appointment where you can enjoy a beer and have your hair styled ready for your night out on the town - £12.

Book now for your upcoming Autumn/Winter events as our weekends especially are filling up fast.

Backwash Balayage.......

A technique we offer in the salon is the backwash balayage, and after some social media pictures we had a few questions as to what this actually is - so we thought we would take the opportunity to explain it here...

Backwash balayage is a technique where your colour is applied freehand at the basins - we learned this from Sophia Hilton when she trained our team earlier this year and the results are fantastic!

Here is one Jen did a couple of weeks ago - as you can see it looks oh-so-natural and divinely sun-kissed. We love it!

...and Breathe, Little Yogis

In and amongst all of the excitement and buzz around the salon, we like to make time for a little peace and relaxation. So, every Tuesday and Thursday morning before the salon opens, we do team yoga.

The gorgeous Jodi Bond puts us through our paces and offers us some much needed breathing space before what will inevitably be another busy day in the salon. This is open to all of our Linton & Mac family and everyone is free to attend.

We feel this is great for team building, but also helps to keep us focused, aware and on the ball, as well as incredibly bendy - which is great when you are working on your feet all day. We hope that this cool, calm attitude, filters through into the salon.

So, one whole year has passed in the life of Linton & Mac Salon -and Linton & Mac, would like to express our enormous gratitude!

We always believed in our vision, but have been absolutely blown away by the love and encouragement which we have received along the way. This year has been a truly awesome experience and we thank YOU - you are more than clients, you are family and friends. We are overwhelmed and humbled by your support....

peace and love
