British Hairdressing Business Awards

Our Linton and MacDonald, were down in London earlier this week to attend the British Hairdressing Business Awards, hosted by Hairdressers Journal International.

We were up for the Independent Salon - Business Newcomer category, which celebrates the owners of new independent salons which are less than two years old. It recognises their goals and aims, but also the realisation of those plans in terms of success and future business growth.

The ceremony took place at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge in London on Monday 11th September, and was hosted by comedian Rob Beckett, alongside HJ’s executive director, Jayne Lewis-Orr.

On the night, Jayne welcomed the an audience of 800 hairdressers, telling them “this night is all about promoting the professionalism, innovation and excellence of our industry. We’re proud to recognise the individuals and teams who work tirelessly to raise the profile and professionalism of this industry, and make it one of which we can all be proud.”

And then this happened...

The awards, which boast 17 categories recognising all aspects of salon life, seek to find the most forward-thinking, successful and valued businesses in the country. A win on the night marks a salon out as the cream of the crop, providing unrivalled recognition that they are at the pinnacle of their profession and contributing to both the industry and the economy in a truly meaningful way.

New salons open all the time, but what makes them successful is a clear vision, defined goals and an owner who can maotivate and inspire their team to deliver greatness. Linton & Mac are deserving winners of this award, pushing creative and business boundaries whilst moving the hairdressing industry forward.

Accepting the award, Jen commented: “It feels unbelievable to win this award! We have worked hard over the last two years and we would like to thank our team, they really make the salon what it is.” Jaye added “We would put this success down to hard work, having each other for support and having fun at the same time!”

Today marks a great news day for Linton & Mac standing tall over a vast industry of 277,333 professional UK hairdressers who work in just 35,000 hairdressing salons. This win catapults the salon into the hairdressing elite - a proud day for Aberdeen’s local businesses!
