It’s that time of year again… L’Oreal Colour Trophy is kicking off!
Every year we open up the competition to the whole team and encourage who ever wants to put themselves forward. We see this competition as a great way to get a feel for how industry competitions work.
But before we go into #LCT19 details, lets take a moment to recognise the achievements of the L in our L&M, Miss Jennifer Linton…..
L’Oreal Innovation Team
The L’Oreal Innovation Team is a small group of 9 talented L’Oreal Colour Specialists, chosen to represent their area – they meet throughout the year to work on new product launches and create inspiring collections.
At the end of last month Jenn put together a 3 minute video audition application to be considered for the prestigious Innovation Team, which comprises of only 9 industry experts from all over the UK and Ireland - Jenn’s video did the trick and got her on the team! Jenn was actually the only applicant from Scotland to be chosen.
Because the Innovation Team are made privy to brand new innovational products and colours, before they hit the wider market, it means that Jenn will be able to take this insider knowledge back to the salon in Aberdeen - making Linton & Mac the most innovative L’Oreal salon in Scotland.
L’Oreal Colour Trophy 2019
The L’Oreal Colour Trophy journey, starts off with applicants developing a concept, finding an appropriate model, executing their conceptual colour and styling technique and photographing to a professional standard - to send that application to be judged by a panel of industry experts.
The L’Oreal Colour Trophy Award
L’Oreal Men’s Image Award
L’Oreal Colour Trophy Afro Award
L’Oreal Colour Trophy Star Award
There are four categories which the Colour Trophy teams can chose to enter - they can enter individuals, or team up as two with one person colouring and the other styling.
This year we have three teams going through to the Regional Finals in Glasgow on Sunday 31st March. This stage will see finalists from all over Scotland come together to style their colour models before being scrutinised by a top panel of big names in the hairdressing industry. Their models will then have to walk for the judges.
Alison & Natalie for L’Oreal Men’s Image
Natasha & Ross for L’Oreal Men’s Image
Jonny for L’Oreal Colour Trophy
Getting through this stage would see winners go on to London in June.
Unfortunately we cannot share their winning looks at the moment, as their images are still very much under wraps….. but we can assure you that we will be sharing these awesome looks as soon as we can… watch this space!
